Grow Food Everywhere – Gardener Support During the Covid-19 Pandemic

COVID-19 is creating unprecedented interruptions to our day-to-day lives and adds strain to our already fragile food distribution lines. In response many are turning back to the land in an effort to feed themselves, their families, and their communities.

Brought to you by Lush Valley Food Action Society in partnership with the Comox Valley Food Policy Council, with the intention of sharing and organizing resources for gardeners in response to COVID-19 in the Comox Valley. The goal of this program is to organize the local community on the grassroots level to ensure vulnerable community members have access to the resources and information they need to grow their own food and medicine at home.

If you have resources to share, are looking support, or want to connect with the community, please check out our Grow Food Everywhere facebook group, or email us at communitygarden@lushvalley.org.

Comox Valley Farmer Survey

This survey is a follow up from a conversation held on April 22, 2020 with Comox Valley farmers and food growers called, “Thriving Comox Valley Food Supply,” hosted by LUSH Valley and the CV Food Policy Council. We used the feedback from the meeting and our own insights on support resources to ask questions that would lead to a plan.
