In partnership with North Island College and Lentelus Farms, LUSH Valley Food Action Society is hosting a six-month fully-funded Regenerative Farming program starting June 1st.
The program teaches the main theories, concepts and practices of market garden agriculture with guidance from industry experts. The course will be presented by experienced sustainable farmer Dave Semmelink and other presenters including Kate Janeway, Bo Del Valle Garcia, James McKerricher and Maurita Prato from LUSH Valley.
The curriculum covers:
- Greenhouse propagation
- Soil and plant science
- Weed and pest control
- Irrigation technologies
- Orchard/perennial management
- Mixed livestock farming
- Certified organic standards
- Food security
- Seed saving
- Crop planning
- Some elements of carpentry
- Business management and marketing

End date: November 25, 2022
Schedule: Wednesday – Friday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
